أصبحت التقارير وسيلة فعالة لا غنى عنها للإدارة اذ انها تعرف الادارة بكيفية سير العمل . وبذلك يجب ان تقدم معلومات فورية عن العمليات الجارية و تساعد الادارة في امكانية تحسين العمل عما هو جاري حاليا , وبذلك تكون ادارة هامة للتخطيط و تمكن الادارة من متابعة و تقويم نتائج اعمال الشركة . وتعتبر التقارير أداة هامة لتوجيه و دفع الوحدة او الشخص بان يتبع بالضبط الخطة المحددة الموضوعة و تساعد في ربط العمليات الجارية داخل الشركة بعضها مع بعض وفي تعاون العاملين على انجازها , مما يخلق جوا ملائما لتحقيق أهداف المؤسسة . ان عملية اعداد و تحضير التقارير في حد ذاتها تعمل على رفع مستوى العمل في الؤسسة وتنعكس نتائجها على كفاية الادارة بشكل يرفع من مستواها في الاداء وهذا يتطلب تدريب القائمين بإعداد التقارير تدريبا جيدا على المهارات الفنية لكتابة التقارير للاستفادة منها في دعم أتخاذ القرار .
